Description

This Viking Age bronze ring is formed from two bronze rods twisted together, creating a continuous braided structure rather than a cast hoop. The ring is penannular, with open terminals, a construction method characteristic of Nordic metalwork of the period. The surface displays a stable green patina with localized wear consistent with age and burial. The twisted wire technique reflects forged craftsmanship distinct from Roman cast or stone set rings.
