About Aurora Antiqua
Aurora Antiqua is an antique-jewelry house based in Belgium. We curate authenticated ancient and medieval rings, pendants, and small artifacts, each one a unique survival from the historical record.
Why Aurora exists
The antique trade has a trust problem: too many sellers offer "ancient" pieces with no references, no provenance, and no recourse if something turns out to be wrong. Aurora exists to do the opposite, by publishing the evidence behind every piece and standing behind it for life.
The collection
The collection spans roughly the Bronze Age through the late medieval period, with a focus on Roman, Byzantine, Migration-era, and medieval European rings. Every piece is one of a kind, sold once, and never reproduced.
Research backbone
Every piece is reviewed by qualified specialists and authenticated against our working reference database of more than 73,000 archaeological artifacts, drawn from museum collections, the Deutsches Archaeologisches Institut (DAI), open-access journals indexed by DOAJ, and Pollio's "Ancient Rings" (2018), among other standard references. Where the evidence is partial, we say so plainly on the listing.
About the founder
Aurora was founded by Jakob, who continues to lead sourcing, research, restoration, and direct customer relationships. The shop is small enough that you can always reach the person who handled your piece, and well-resourced enough to back every sale with proper authentication and a Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee. Read more about how we authenticate on the Provenance and Authenticity page.
