Description
This ancient ring, named "Ferreus," bridges the late Roman and early medieval periods (c. 250-900 CE). Crafted from an iron-rich base metal, it features a marquise-shaped (amandine) bezel incised with a cross-hatch pattern, and distinctive nubs at the shoulders and shank. The reddish surface and corrosion reflect centuries of burial and the high iron content typical for utilitarian rings of late antiquity and the Migration Era.
