Description

This medieval bronze seal ring features a flattened rectangular bezel engraved with a stylized four petaled flower or rosette. The motif is clear and deliberate, intended to produce a legible impression in wax rather than serve as ornament alone. The tapering shoulders and compact bezel reflect functional seal ring design of the Crusader period. The surface shows a stable green brown patina consistent with age and prolonged use.

Historical Context
During the Crusader period, seal rings were essential tools for identification and authorization in daily life. Floral and rosette motifs were widely used across Western Europe and Crusader connected regions, offering symbolic meaning without strict heraldic affiliation. Bronze examples were especially common among merchants, craftsmen, and members of religious or military networks. Rings like this reflect the practical and symbolic role of seals in medieval society.
