This genuine Roman bronze ring, “Sylvanus,” dates to the 1st–3rd century AD and features an engraved image of a faun—one of the playful woodland spirits associated with the Roman god Faunus and inspired by Greek satyrs. The faun is depicted in lively motion with goat-like legs and a rounded cap of hair, capturing the joyful energy of ancient myth.
