This post-medieval base metal ring, named "Fleuris," dates to the 17th-19th century and features a shield-shaped bezel engraved with a stylised fleur-de-lis. The shoulders are decorated with elegant foliate designs, reflecting the enduring popularity of heraldic and botanical motifs in European jewelry. While the fleur-de-lis is an ancient symbol, its particular heraldic style became especially widespread in the decorative arts of post-medieval France and neighboring regions.
