This ancient bronze ring, named "Maximus," bridges the late Roman and early medieval worlds (c. 4th-10th century AD). It features a broad, flat band with incised linear decoration on the shoulders, a cushion-shaped bezel engraved with radiant lines (possibly forming a cross in negative space), and distinctive raised nubs at both shoulders and the base of the shank. The rich patina and areas of verdigris highlight its great age. These raised protuberances are typical of late Roman rings but do appear into the medieval period.
